What’s the craic is a favourite saying in our office. That’s because the company has a strong Irish heritage which goes back to the 1924 when Joe McCaul’s father, Patrick moved to Lancashire from Ireland.

Joe, a bricklayer by trade set up Ashton and McCaul in 1955 before setting up Redwaters in 1975. His youngest son, Sean, joined the business in 1990 and became managing director five years later.

Sean now runs the company with a ten strong team based at head office in Chaddock Lane, Worsley, Greater Manchester. A lot of exciting things have happened over the past 5 years and we have grown to become one of the best known bespoke development companies in the North West and have been busy building residential, leisure and commercial developments in highly desirable locations.

The next 5 years should be equally as exciting as we have a lot of truly great projects in the pipeline with more info to come!

Curious if we have ever built near you? Use our interactive map below to see where all of our sites have been located:

The Barn on Chaddock Lane is a historic building which also serves as our offices!

An earlier development in Astley from Redwaters!

The first development from Redwaters!

This gated estate in Leigh consisted of 9 houses.

This office block we built also served as our own offices for a while!

This project in Tyldesley provided 12 bungalows.

Our project in Warton consisted of 9 houses in Preston

The Point is our largest development to date! Located next to the marina at Cotton Field Park it included 13 houses and over 100 apartments .

Consisting of 8 houses including a historic farmhouse, Bridge House was a successful development in the picturesque village of Thelwall in Cheshire.

We are delighted to have worked with the Walkden Cricket Club in renovating their ground.

This development from Redwaters turned two derelict schools blocks into prestigious apartments and bungalows.

We have got a soft spot for this scheme because it’s where we used to work, and it won us an urban design award from Wigan Council.

The addition of 44 houses to the village of Astley was a roaring success with all residents moved in by summer 2015 with work beginning in 2014.

Our first project in Ripponden was a great success with 8 townhouses in a gated community

Ripponden Vale is an exclusive development on the site of a former garage at Dam Top. The spacious three and four bedroom houses  overlook the River Ryburn,  and houses in the first phase have gardens and a woodland area.

Cotton Tops Drive, off Halifax Road,  is our third project in this stunning village and consists of 24, three and four bedroom properties, some with stunning views over the River Ryburn.

We are underway with construction of 15 detached houses on our new residential site in Astley.

With 4 restaurants, a wine bar and 28 dwellings, Astley Point provides homes, good food and good times to the people of astley.

This wonderful 15 house estate was completed by Redwaters in early 2020

Our Chaddock Hall site consists of 6 three bedroom properties including the historic Grade II Listed Building Chaddock Hall
